[Devlog #3] — Core walls ready. Before the ceiling: bends and junctions

My Sci‑Fi Corridors project with an Alien ’79 vibe is taking shape and scale. It’s a parallel project; if you also follow my Swampia work, you know I’m building a swamp biome and architecture. If you’re new here: some props I showed earlier are already available to download in the previous devlogs as attached files.

I have fifteen 4×4 m modular walls with a shared pivot. They align cleanly and define a clear corridor rhythm, even with varying depths across segments.
Change of direction
Plan is this: before moving to ceilings, instead of adding more wall variants I’m designing a 2 m‑wide wall system plus modules for bends and junctions. The goal is to build sharp 90° turns, soft arcs, T‑junctions and X‑crossings. This is deliberate; aesthetic variants — service, worn and related — move to a post‑launch major update.
Returning to Corridors: in parallel to the walls I’m building props — they stand in the wings and wait. I showed them in earlier posts; you can also grab them from previous devlogs as attachments. At a later stage, when I move to Unity from Blender, I’ll plug them in to shape the vibe directly in‑engine.
Ceilings
After I finish the 2 m system, I’ll tackle ceilings next week. They will stay consistent with the walls: matching divisions and mounting points. I’m adding overhead service runs, intake/exhaust grilles, recesses for fixtures and technical signage.
Corridor layout test
In the coming weeks I’ll prepare a test stretch with tight bends, arcs and T/X junctions to evaluate how the modules behave in complex connections and how readable the transitions are.
Feedback
Got an eye for detail? Tell me if the 2 m width works for gameplay and camera, and which turns/junctions you want first: sharp 90°, soft arcs, T and X connections, beveled corners. If you have references for ceiling ducts or technical labels, send them my way. Next post: a closed corridor segment with an arc, a junction hub, and the first ceiling set.
