[Devlog #5] Swampia Village: Lovecraft Vibe in Modular

The swamp town is built from modules: walls (plank siding with patches), roofs (corrugated gables + lean-tos), windows/doors as swappable inserts. Stilted houses with a clear post-and-brace rhythm; slim volumes with recessed porches. The same construction kit repeats in sheds and open frames to keep cohesion. Along the water, hard edges and mooring posts; at night, warm interiors play against a cool water/sky fill.

Lovecraft-inspired. PC refs: Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones, Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened (2023), The Sinking City, Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, Conarium

Modular roofs (corrugated + plank/shingle)

corrugated + plank/shingl

Compact set for quick coverage: gables, sheds, hips, ridge caps, porch canopies. Subtle waviness reads well in iso and night shots.

  • 2 m module; clean seams, no gaps.

  • Pivots on ridge/eave; 0.5 m snap.

  • Mid-poly with LODs (~40/20%); no normal maps—form does the work.

Low wooden panels

skirts/railing fills

Short spans for porches, verandas and edge trims. Open and solid variants to build façade rhythm.

  • Same thickness as wall system; end caps & mini-corners included.

  • 1–2 m modules; 0.5 m snap; L/R mirrors.

Multiple widths: single, double, narrow gables, boarded-up. Unified sill height so mixing is painless.

  • Integrated frames/jambs; clean cuts for long runs.

  • L/R and mirrored; short “shim” pieces to finish spans.

  • Same grid as plain walls; tidy exterior corners.
